The Mediroyal Erix Three is our premium shoulder brace. Manufactured by Mediroyal in Sweden, this shoulder brace was first developed for patients with neurological conditions who would often have subluxation and anteriorly tilting shoulder problems. These difficult alignments would cause weakness, laxity and pain and reduce function. It was therefore highlighted that there was a need for compression and support as well as further correction from strapping. From treating those with neurological conditions with the Erix Three, it was also deemed very effective for other shoulder injuries, such as musculoskeletal injuries - frozen shoulder, rotator cuff injuries etc.
This system has two thin, firm (and removable) reinforcements and silicone straps on the inside to assist the function of the SITS- muscles (Supraspinatus, Infraspinatus,Teres minor, and Subscapularis) This aids in retracting the shoulder to a posterior safe position. That provides both a lift to the shoulder joint as well as posterior stability.
The full brace also fits the patient more specifically due to additional chest straps which can be added to increase comfort. This also allows the shoulder section to fit more tightly around the joint. These modifications mean each section fits more effectively therefore not compromising function.
To further improve the suspension of the shoulder joint a special yoke-strap can be applied to support and lift the shoulder joint individually. The yoke-strap provides a very effective suspension and lift of the joint and can be adjusted individually. The two different lengths can be tried to find which one is the most suitable for the individual patient. If more effect is needed, the shorter strap can be applied upon the longer for double suspension effect.
ErixThree® is made of maxi-perforated NeoTex that provides excellent ventilation of the skin. This makes it possible to use the brace for longer periods without making it too hot or uncomfortable. It is also washable in 60 degrees. The strap that runs under the armpit is micro-perforated for optimal function and comfort. ErixThree® can also be used as a more flexible shoulder brace and then stabilized individually by using the enclosed hook straps for a tape-like effect. This can be a very good alternative for patients with sensitive skin that can´t tolerate normal or kinesio tape. You can then ENHANCE the support by using BOA kits and/or NRX strapping.
The BOAS allow easier use with one hand! Position the tabs so they pull in whichever direction you need for your patient. Then each time they don this they can easily click and tighten in to the desired position.
The NRX strapping range includes the standard NRX strap, NRX double and NRX Plus in 3 widths.
The standard NRX strap can be easily used as a supination strap connecting from the Erix three shoulder brace down the upper limb. This support will help to dynamical improve the patient's upper limb alignment, increase function and reduce pain.
This allows you to look at the full upper limb as a chain and increase support throughout all joints rather than just the shoulder alone.
